A native of the United States, Jane’s traveled and lived in many countries around the world. Settling in Costa Rica in 2001, she completed her home in Alfombra in 2002, and began the development of Summerland Village in 2003.
A graduate of Colgate University, Jane worked extensively in the retail and wholesale clothing industry during the 80’s and 90’s. She relocated to Southern Florida, managed a horse farm and opened her own business as an inspection service for imported goods. Then she spent 10 years in the Commercial Landscape industry, while owning and managing a five-acre wholesale plant nursery. Concurrently Jane became interested in real estate development and passed the Real Estate Boards in Dade County, Florida.
As many do, she came to Costa Rica on a vacation and never wanted to leave. It took several years to make the move but now this is, unquestionably, her home. One point she makes is that few have seen the world to the same extent as she has – Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Pakistan, most of Europe, Central America and the USA – and still she chose Costa Rica. Unlike many, she is here because she loves this country, not because of her dislike of any other place she has lived.
Jane is fluent in Spanish (and English!) with extensive experience in Costa Rican real estate, including all of the legal aspects of a sale/purchase. She has built over a dozen houses for investment as well as for individual clients and has helped many people with coordinating construction on the land that they purchase here.
Jane counts many “Ticos” as good friends, and wants to share the delights of her adopted country and, perhaps, help a few along the way make Costa Rica their home too!
